What is your Personality?

What is your Personality?

Music is the soul of life – and in today's digital life, music permeates every aspect of our lives. We are hooked onto music – plugged in or not – everywhere we go. Most of us define ourselves through the type of music we listen to. They reflect the type of personalities we have and thanks to the researches conducted by psychologists, we have empirical backing when we claim to be introverts or extroverts.

If you want to know more about yourselves, here are a list of type of music and the type of characters attributed to them.

Pop – Extroverted, honest, conventional, hardworking, high self-esteem, less creative and more uneasy.

Rap/Hip Hop – High self esteem, outgoing. It is actually not true that they are more aggressive or violent.

Country – Hardworking, conventional, outgoing, emotionally stable.

Rock/Heavy Metal – Gentle, creative, introverted, suffers from low self-esteem

Indie – Introverted, intellectual, creative, less hardworking, less gentle, passivity, anxiousness and low self-esteem.

Dance – Outgoing and assertive.

Classical – More introverted, at ease with themselves and the world around them, creative, good sense of self-esteem.

Jazz, Blues and Soul – extroverted, high self-esteem, intelligent, creative, at ease.

Researcher Adrian North of Heriot-Watt University in Edinburgh who made this research famous said that people sometimes get defensive about their taste in music because music reflects their personalities, and thus is something close to their heart. Subconsciously, we do define ourselves through the music we listen to and these are the identities we wear in public.
